What's Coming Up At Stitch!

Easter Is Coming!
Hooray! Brighter times are ahead with the prospect of longer days, the easing of restrictions and the Easter bank holiday weekend. We hope our customers can find some relaxing time for themselves with some sewing and crafting in between some Easter treats! 

Here's what's coming up at Stitch! 
From kids Easter activities, new stock, a fabulous free Easter duck sewing pattern and rescheduled classes!

Following the success of our crafting sessions on Zoom we have more fun activities via Zoom scheduled for the Easter holidays, most with kits that we can post or you can click and collect from the shop!
Tuesday 6th April, 10-11am
Make Cute Felt Egg Cosies!
Join Liz to craft along at home and make and sew a cute felt egg cosy. The workshop will involve being sent a full kit including- 2 felt templates, a bunny and a chick felt template to choose from, thread and needle.

Wednesday 7
th April, 10-11am
Make Yarn Wrapped Bunnies!
Join Suzanne to craft along at home and make a cute yarn wrapped bunny. You will be emailed a bunny template to print out and will need a few bits and pieces from around the house.

th April, 10-11am
Make a Button & Tassles Mobile!
Join Liz to craft along at home and craft a beautiful button and tassles mobile. The workshop will involve being sent a full kit including- buttons, hoop, thread, needle, and wool for tassles.

Friday 9
th April, 10-11am
Rag Flower making!
Join Liz to craft along at home and make a beautiful rag flower embellishment. The workshop will involve being sent a full kit and instructions including- fabric, button, needle and thread and a hair bobble with enough to make two rag flowers.

RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES 
The government roadmap should allow us to restart classes with social distancing measures in place from May 17th. Hooray, we really can't wait!
CROCHET 
We have been busy rescheduling our postponed crochet classes from lockdown to May and June dates, so please check your emails if you are awaiting news on those and there are a couple of spare spaces on those classes listed on our website. There will be new dates for various crochet classes in the summer in due course.

SEWING & PATCHWORK
Sew and Make With Seamstress Pat, Wednesdays 12-1.30pm, £30

Pat's classes resume on Wednesdays with our come along with a simple item or garment you are currently making, adjusting or starting and that you need help with. This is a continuous running class which you can book week to week where you can choose what you want to make and Pat will assist you making. We have Janome sewing machines for you to use, cutting mats, scissors and rotary cutters. 

Introduction to Patchwork with Pat Stevens, Thursday 19th May, 12-2pm, £40

This is an Introduction to Patchwork course for sewers/ quilters starting out or continuing your journey in patchwork machine sewing. In this course you will learn the basics of how to make a patchwork cushion, wallhanging or lap quilt. You will ideally be proficient on a sewing machine. 
We have Janome sewing machines for you to use, cutting mats, scissors and rotary cutters. This class shall run every Thursday. Should you wish to continue you will be able to sign up for a 4 week period for our weekly patchwork course at a reduced rate.

Are you a complete sewing beginner looking to make sense of how to use a sewing machine?
This is a one-off class for beginners perfect for you! Hosted by expert seamstress Pat Stevens you will learn your way around the workings, parts and components of a sewing machine and make a simple product to help put your skills into practice.
Intermediate Quilting One Day Workshop, Sunday 23rd May, 11-5pm, £75

In this course you will learn how to make accurate triangles as part of creating a star shaped quilt. You will add a border and binding. A big focus of the day will be experimenting with different methods of quilting the layers together using a walking foot and a free motion quilting foot.
This is an intermediate course so participants should have a basic knowledge of using a rotary cutter and sewing ¼ inch seams.
Learn the Art of Visible Mending! Sashiko!
NEW DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED! with Tricia Sharpe
Give your garments a longer life and learn how to repair them using the Japanese art of visible mending: Sashiko. You will then be able to use your new skills whenever required! We will send you a kit of small fabric materials, needles, pins and threads to work with and an information sheet. All you need to provide is a pair of scissors.

If you need help with a sewing, patchwork, mending, knitting or crochet project whilst we are closed we are very happy to offer individual one-on-one video tuition and guidance (via Zoom) with our teachers in any of the sewing, knitting and crochet disciplines at £20 an hour tuition. No project is too big or small, we'd love to hear from you!

We are delighted, with conditions and regulations allowing, for our shop to be reopening on Tuesday April 13th! Our shop opening hours will currently be Tuesday- Friday 10am-2pm and Saturday 10-3pm. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back! In the meantime you can purchase from our website and we offer postage or click and collect 11-1pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
