Happy Sunny Friday!
So great to be back in the shop doing what we love at Stitch! Thank you so much to those of you who have come in to welcome us back. We miss our customers, please don't forget we're here in our new shop within the Post Office. Pop in for a chat and a browse and check out our growing range of fabrics, wool, haberdashery, local makers gifts, buttons and craft kits.
We are now open on a Thursday 10-5pm and we are opening slightly earlier on a Friday at 9am (handy to pop in straight from the school run I hear you cry!)
So our opening hours are Tuesday & Wednesday 10-2pm, Thursday 10-5pm, Friday 9am-2pm and Saturday 10-3pm.
Another welcome return for all of us passionate about sewing has been "The Great British Sewing Bee" to our screens.
We loved the "deceptively difficult challenge" of the button down dress this week. And attempting button hole sewing sometimes make us cry like Adeena! Some fabulous creations! Should we run a class in button holes? Let us know if you agree we should! We stock a range of buttons at Stitch and are just beginning to add them to our website one range at a time, as you can probably tell from the picture above we could be here a while, so please bear with us!
If the Sewing Bee has inspired you and you are a beginner to sewing we have all the kit you need in the shop or online from rotary cutters £9.50 each and cutting mats starting at £16 to excellent dressmaker scissors at £6 a pair.
For all our patchwork/quilter customers we have extended our plain colour fabric range and have some beautiful hues by Makower at £2 a quarter metre.
Also some lovely pre-cut fat quarters starting at £1 each in store!
SHOP DECORATING!
A big thank you to Liz for beautifying our screen area
with these pretty rag flowers this week. Some of you will remember that Liz ran a class in this during Easter break and we still have some kits in store if you fancy making yourself or with kids! More shop decorating will be coming along so watch this space......

We are very pleased to be supporting Nightingale Cancer Support Centre who are appealing to all knitters, crocheters, (beginners and professionals alike) to be part of Stitches of Support. This community project aims to take knitted squares and create blankets for Nightingale clients going through active cancer treatment.
We would love for anyone in our community to create a square or several to represent anything that brings comfort and joy or something that has inspired you during lockdown and send it to their centre (or you can pass to us here at Stitch to send on). Squares will be joined together by their Knit and Natter Group to create as many blankets as possible. Your squares can be one block colour, striped, represent books for reading, cupcakes for baking or flowers for gardening, whatever fills you with joy that you would like to pass on to someone else. Thank you for your support! Full details can be found at:-
