We have a new dressmaking class listed this week-  learn to sew a shell top class and there are plenty of spaces available on our beginners embroidery class coming up on Saturday 1st April so don't be shy, we'd love to see you (see all the details in our class listings below).

Calling all adventurous crocheters out there. We have a new workshop in Mosaic Crochet with Kay. This technique gives you the opportunity to use two different colours without changing wool. You can create beautiful geometric designs with whatever colour combinations you like. Join us!

And if you are looking to keep the kids busy over the Easter period we have some great workshops - hand sewing in the first week with Anna and finger knitting/crochet workshops in the second week.

Kids will be taught from their start point whether that is absolute beginner or if they have already got some crochet or sewing skills. If more than one session is booked then each session will build on what is done at the previous session.

Learn to sew a Kimono with the fabulous Pat Stevens! Skills you will learn include:  how to lay out your fabric and cut it; French seams; binding; learn to cut from pattern (choice from small medium large); learn to construct a garment; pattern matching if using pattern. This is a perfect class for beginners to garment making. You must already be proficient at using a machine before taking this class. This is an adults only class.

Are you a complete sewing beginner looking to make sense of how to use a sewing machine? With Pat Stevens. You will learn your way around the workings, parts and components of a sewing machine. Learn how to set up and thread a machine and how to wind a bobbin. Learn how to set the correct tension. Learn how to sew straight seams. Changing the needle. Using a zipper foot and a 1/4 inch seam foot. You will practice some stitching in order to gain the skills you need to tackle your future projects.

At Stitch's latest 2 hour crochet workshop we will focus on how you can use colour and texture to create unique and beautiful designs with a simple granny square. The workshop will also focus on forming a square, switching colours, joining techniques and making tassels.

If you are complete beginner needing to learn your knit from your purl or have that project that you are in the middle of or one your are raring to start. Our amazing goddess of wool Kay Dudman will be able to teach and guide you at any level. Learn to Make a Teddy Bear with local artist Susan Mehmet, £50.00
This is an introduction to making a teddy bear with movable joints. In this course you will learn the basics of how to sew and design a 17mm or 7 inch teddy bear from mohair fabric, glass eyes and metal movable joints.
