A Shower of Stars!

Phew, it's hotting up! And not just the weather as tonight the Perseid meteor shower is lighting up the skies in one of the highlights of the year for stargazers. With up to 150 shooting stars streaking through the sky per hour, it is one of the brightest showers of the year. We're excited!

Thank you to everyone who attended our fabulous kimono class last weekend, so pleased we got to run this workshop in time for such lovely weather. We are also delighted to be offering our first Beginners Pattern Cutting Workshop with instructor Nadia Constantinou from "In the Fold" in September.

Nadia has over 30 years industry experience as a pattern cutter/ grader & garment technologist before setting up her own Consultancy business supporting high street & online brands such as John Lewis. With Nadia's guidance and instruction you will be taught the basics on how to measure and create a block pattern to take away with you.

In this 6 hour workshop you will learn skills that include choosing which fabrics are suitable, rotary cutting, creating a patchwork, layering the quilt, quilting the layers together and finishing off with adding a binding. The design will be based on a patchwork made of squares. It is recommended that you are experienced with using sewing machine. Otherwise, no previous quilting experience is required.

Stitch! now has a beginners teenage crochet club starting this September! This 6 week club, with Kay Dudman, is a brilliant introduction for teenagers to learn to crochet.
