We are also embracing Sustainable September tomorrow with a drop-in mending and alterations day. We are encouraging you to repair or alter your existing clothes in order to reduce textile waste. Book below or drop in with a garment you wish to repair and our expert seamstress Pat will help you get the job done. (This is for garments that require sewing mending or alterations not knitted garments.)

Has anyone else visited the Kate Fassett exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath? Karen made a special trip last weekend and really enjoyed it:-

“I love Kaffe Fassett designed tapestries, knitting, fabric and of course, his quilts. When I heard he had an exhibition of his ‘lock-down’ quilts at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath, I decided I really must go. Apart from loving Bath and the additional attraction of the Jane Austen Festival which meant there were dozens of Georgian-dressed men and women wandering the streets as though it was the 18th century, the quilts were wonderful. Fassett had actually quilted one or two of the quilts himself and it was heartening to see up close that they were not entirely perfect and that one or two points weren’t as sharp as they might be but overall, they were magnificent. A charming, informative white-gloved man also showed you the backs and chatted about the history of each piece. To add to the richesse, there were a number of broken-crockery art works conceived and executed by Fassett’s long-time friend Candace Bahouth. It was a wonderful couple of hours….”
