Happy Thursday friends!
Hope you are all having a good week. Plenty of spaces available on our Beginners Sewing Machine Class at Firs Farm hub coming up on Saturday. You will learn the skills on a sewing machine that means your next project could be a simple transformation like this 30 minute scarf-to-top sewing project Liz has just completed. So pretty! You can also sample the delights of the new fabulous Leon's cafe @leons_atfirsfarm whilst you are there.
A fun Stitch & Knit social at the Fox pub last night- we were chatting about the pros and cons of crochet versus knitting and how everyone started crocheting. I asked for 10 great reasons why people might want to start and here in no particular order are our thoughts-
“Because it’s much quicker than knitting and you can complete projects satisfyingly fast once you know how…”
“You only look at crochet one stitch at a time”
“It’s easy to do on the plane! A great craft for travelling…”
“Easier to fix mistakes than knitting…”
“You don’t need to know a lot of stitches to complete a project like a blanket.”
“It helps me destress from work because it give you something to totally take the concentration away from other unwelcome distractions.
“I have become so much more mindful since crocheting- I call it my crafting Zen”
“It can be bitesize so you don’t feel intimidated!”
“You can make fashionable items for your wardrobe and be the envy of all your friends.”
“Reduces anxiety and great when there’s nothing on telly!”
Well if this hasn’t convinced the doubters I don’t know what will. Our next complete beginners crochet workshop is Saturday 1st June at Arbeit Studios, let expert Kay help you get started on your crochet journey, all materials provided.
