I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our recent fundraising efforts. A massive thanks to all of you who came down and bought something from Stitch! on Saturday. The sun was shining upon us and we raised a fabulous £500 which will help towards paying our rent for the next month.

We are so appreciative to Susan for inspiring and organising our makers fundraiser.  To all our makers who are the beating heart of our crafting community and who generously donated all their beautiful, handmade items for us to sell to raise funds, to Kay for running our crochet and knitting surgery and to Nadira for painting henna at our event.  

And we still have some lovely items left in the shop until the Easter weekend to buy so please do pop in for hand made baby blankets, jewellery, gift boxes, leg warmers, crochet scrunchies and hats.

Many of you on Saturday kindly asked how else you can help us to try and keep going here in our little shop in Palmers Green and continue to support our little local business. All these things help us to keep serving you-

KIDS EASTER WORKSHOPS

Our kids Easter workshops have launched online - we have some super fun workshops ranging from punch needling, beginners sewing machine tuition, crochet, making a finger knitting and pom pom wall hanging, make a t-shirt bag! Hope your kids can join us.

SCRAPPY PATCHWORK

Susan is teaching this new fabulous class learning how to sew scrappy patchwork. Scrappy patchwork is a hand sewing technique which is one of the most fun and creative ways to uses up scraps of fabric to make beautiful squares for cushions, bags or in this case covering boxes. 

You can use any size, patterns and type of fabric to create patterns, the possibilities are endless. You can even use it to put on clothing, the handmade boxes make a beautiful gift for loved ones.

MOSAIC CROCHET

Hungry for a new crochet stitch to take your crochet to the next level?

Come and learn mosaic crochet with Kay. This is a technique that gives you the opportunity to use two different colours without changing wool. You can create beautiful geometric designs with whatever colour combinations you like. During this workshop you will be covering inset and overlay mosaic techniques. You will be working on a panel learning the these basic techniques that you can continue at home to make a blanket or you can incorporate it into other projects.

LEARN TO MAKE A SKIRT

Last call for bookings for our learn to sew a (denim) skirt, you can choose to make a pencil or a-line skirt and if you don’t want to make it in denim that is  fine too. In this class with expert Pat you will be covering: patch pockets, zippers, waist band, slit, top stitching.

If we don’t get any bookings we will probably try running our fabulous learn to sew palazzo trousers instead so watch this space.
