Patchwork Quilting is in and set to become the cult craft of 2022!

hello • 28 March 2022

This is a subtitle for your new post

'Quilting is set to become the cult craft of 2022' says Olivia Lidbury in The Times, Style magazine!

It was great to see The Sunday Times Style magazine recognising and platforming the art of patchwork! 🌾

Patchwork quilting has proven to offer many people a place to escape, unwind and do something mentally stimulating, yet relaxing! As we all know, these past two years have been challenging and as a result Google searches for hobbies to reduce stress have increased by 200 per cent in the UK, since the beginning of the pandemic!

Here at Stitch, we love quilting and are really proud of Carol, Pat & Susan who have made these beautiful quilts across the last month!
Patchwork is accessible to everyone. A worthwhile and easy hobby to pick up with a fabulous pay off- a beautiful creation and perhaps an heirloom to be kept for generations to come.

Julius Arthur, the founder of the design practice House of Quinn, put it perfectly 'You can do a lot (quilting) with scraps that you have around - you don't even need a sewing machine - and I like the functionality of it. You're creating something that's going to be used, therefore you can gift it or pass it down.'

If you would like to get involved with patchwork and quilting, please pop into Stitch. We have some lovely fabrics to sew with for all price ranges. We sell fat quarters and we will soon be stocking jelly rolls. We also have a very impressive array of excellent value fabric remnants.

If you are looking for tuition expert Pat runs an Introduction to Patchwork 2 hour class every Thursday and Carol and Susan are running a Beginner's One-Day Quilting workshop! in April.
