Happy Friday! Delighted to be in receipt of new fabrics this week from Makower. We have restocked our plains so we have a full range of shades for quilting and dressmaking and we also have in store some beautiful fabrics from the Hikari Japanese-inspired collection with metallic detailing.

NEW MOSAIC WORKSHOP 
We are thrilled that local artist Alex McHallam, whose work can be seen locally in Palmers Green and Gordon Hill railway stations, is running another mosaic workshop for beginners and intermediates, our first since we were in our premises in the old Grouts. This is happening Sunday 26th March, 10.30-4.30pm and we can't wait.

We would love to run street party sewing and crafting preparation workshops if there was enough interest. Please let us know. We are scheduling a bunting workshop which is brilliant decoration for lots of different celebrations, not just a street party.

SASHIKO COMING UP!
Lovely to see our participants picking up new darning skills so quickly last weekend and Dana tells me she has already mended a favourite camisole that otherwise would be for the bin. 
Tricia is really looking forward to running our next 2 -part Sashiko class where you will learn about the background to Sashiko, examples of functional and decorative use of techniques, sample demonstration and practice. You will be given a sample and you can work on individual projects with help from Tricia.

In this 6 hour workshop you will learn skills that include choosing which fabrics are suitable, rotary cutting, creating a patchwork, layering the quilt, quilting the layers together and finishing off with adding a binding. Learn to Make a Teddy Bear with local artist Susan Mehmet, £50.00
This is an introduction to making a teddy bear with movable joints. In this course you will learn the basics of how to sew and design a 17mm or 7 inch teddy bear from mohair fabric, glass eyes and metal movable joints.
