Salute to Brilliant Women!
It was International Women's Day this week and I would never need an excuse to celebrate the fantastic, female team here at Stitch who show constant creativity, commitment and enthusiasm for all our endeavours. Thank you everyone and to all our fabulous female customers that support and inspire us everyday with their creativity and interest in sewing and crafting. Without you we wouldn't be here so thank you for believing in us. 

Super Jute bags!
Thank you Shirin for running an enjoyable jute weaving bag class last Thursday. There was alot to learn but super durable bags were made. It was lovely to work with such a natural and readily available material (local hardware stores and Refill at the Grange, refill_at_the_grange on Instagram all stock jute.) If you live locally keep an eye out for people using them!

Freemotion embroidery
We are really looking forward to our first freemotion embroidery class with expert embroiderer Jill Kipnis from www.inspirationalembroidery.co.uk In this class she will be sharing tips and tricks for beginners and refreshers on learning how to use this wonderful technique to create visually stunning pieces. Jill will also share with you her expert knowledge on dissolvable fabrics and films. You will leave with the knowledge to then create unique pieces for yourself or handcrafted gifts for your loved ones or use your new skills embellishing what you already have at home!

All the materials and equipment will be provided on the evening. We will also provide a selection of fabrics for you to choose from, the use of our Janome machines as well as refreshments and a warm, creative environment, so just bring yourselves!

PHILANTHROPY SEWING VOLUNTEERS
The fantastic Philanthropy at 248 Green Lanes (a second hand shop that gives back to the local community) are looking for volunteers to help sew their Remade collections, where they take donated garments upcycle and make new ones. Learn to Make a Teddy Bear with local artist Susan Mehmet, £50.00
This is an introduction to making a teddy bear with movable joints. In this course you will learn the basics of how to sew and design a 17mm or 7 inch teddy bear from mohair fabric, glass eyes and metal movable joints.
