Children’s Knitting! Learn to Knit with Tricia, Saturday 11th January, 10-11am & Saturday 18th January 10-11am
With Tricia Sharpe
What you will learn
If your children have shown an interest in learning to knit then this is the perfect introduction for them.
In this total beginners class they will be taught how to knit one stitch called garter stitch and there will be an option for more classes after these two to make a pair of mittens if they are interested and keen to carry on knitting.
Week 1 – Tricia will cast on stitches for children before the class and teach them how to do a garter stitch – which they will learn and practise during the class and take home to practise.
Week 2 – Learn how to cast on the number of stitches for a pair of mittens – garter stitch for the rest of the class and then take home to finish the piece to a specified length. For those who only want to learn to knit and not carry on to make the mittens – learn to cast off.
There will be an option for children who would like to carry on with their learning to take a further three lessons to make a pair of fingerless mittens. Dates to be arranged.
