Beginners Learning to Knit- Friday 6th & 13th March, 12-2pm

What you will learn

1. Introducing knitting: 2 hours
Equipment essentials: knitting needles, yarn
Useful extras: crochet hook, wool sewing needle, scissors, tape measure/ruler 
How to hold the yarn – important to maintain an even tension
Casting on – starting to knit
The knit stitch and garter stitch fabric
Casting o
ff – finishing a piece
Finishing o
ff – sewing in ends, making seams
 
2. Introducing purl stitches: 2 hours
The purl stitch
Di
fferent patterns using knit and purl:
garter stitch (all knit or all purl)
stocking stitch and reversed stocking stitch
ribbing variations (single rib, double rib, mock rib)

What you need to bring

A notebook in case you wish to jot down ideas. Needles and yarn will be provided but if you have your own you are welcome to bring them.

CLASS SIZE: 8 maximum

DURATION: 2 x 2 hours session
